Course Descriptions

Courses numbered 1000-1999 are open to freshmen; 2000-2999 to sophomores; 3000-3999 to juniors; 4000-4999 to seniors. It is recommended that students elect courses in the years for which they are listed. Freshmen will be admitted to courses above the 2000 level only with the consent of the instructor and the student’s advisor. Juniors and seniors taking freshman courses may be expected to do additional work. Any course above 4999 is a graduate course.

NOTE:
The number in parentheses following the course title indicates the semester hours of credit assigned to the course.
An H following the course number indicates an honors level course.

Business Analytics I [Course] (3)

This course focuses on using the most common business analytics tools in the industry. You'll build foundational skills in SQL and Tableau to extract, analyze, and visualize data. You'll also dive into database design, hypothesis testing, and the nuances of big data in the business landscape. This course is an online course offered via RWU's partnership with Rize, an education company seeking to prepare students for careers in the fastest-growing fields. The partnership allows students to earn RWU credit toward in-demand degree programs. Courses are designed by top academics and industry leaders, vetted by RWU, and taught by faculty at other colleges and universities

Business Analytics II [Course] (3)

This course is intended as a continuation of Business Analytics I. You'll build on your knowledge of business analytics tools by learning advanced SQL and Tableau skills and predictive modeling. This course is oriented around business case studies to apply this newfound knowledge to realworld scenarios. This course is an online course offered via RWU's partnership with Rize, an education company seeking to prepare students for careers in the fastest-growing fields. The partnership allows students to earn RWU credit toward in-demand degree programs. Business Analytics Practicum [Practicum] (3)

In this capstone course, students engage in a hands-on business analytics project, tackling a real-world data problem from start to finish. This immersive experience equips students with the skills needed for their future roles as analysts, with a special focus on honing job interview skills and communicating findings to stakeholders. Students will also learn how to build a portfolio for their job search. This online class has optional live sessions.
