A Prayer for Nurses Week 2025: "The Power of Nurses"
We bow our heads in gratitude for the hands that heal, the hearts that comfort, and the spirits that persevere. On this Nurses Week 2025, we celebrate "The Power of Nurses" at Roberts Wesleyan University - a power not of dominance, but of compassionate service and unwavering dedication.
Heavenly Father, Bless our Roberts nurses – current students, educators, and alumni – who embody education for character, strength in gentleness, who find courage in exhaustion, and who transform scientific knowledge into human connection. Their power flows from the difference a Roberts Nurse makes and their willingness to stand in the gap between suffering and healing, between fear and comfort, and between life and death.
We recognize the need to support our nursing community, which, continues to face unprecedented challenges and fill them with grace to have steadfast resolve and adaptability. They have shown us how the profession evolves while its heart remains constant.
We celebrate the diversity of our nursing family – the many backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that enrich patient care and strengthen our healthcare community. Through their compassionate innovation, Roberts Nurses balance caring with technological advancement and the timeless art of human connection.
Grant our nurses renewal when they are depleted, wisdom when they face difficult decisions, and the knowledge that their work—both seen and unseen—ripples outward in countless lives touched by their care.
We say thank you to Roberts Nurses for working night and double shifts, for the tears wiped away, for the hands held, and for the dignity preserved - all while critically evaluating the prescriber's orders and the accuracy of technology. We thank you for the power of Roberts’ nurses, who are diverse yet united by the mission to be a learning community grounded in the Christian faith and committed to excellence in nursing through innovative education, scholarship, and service. Who work to transform our world.
