Lindsay Brooks

Profile

Lindsay Brooks understands that change—and life itself—can be deeply challenging. As a therapist, she seeks to walk alongside clients, joining with them to explore the experiences that bring them into therapy and guiding them through processes of growth and healing. She believes that our thoughts, feelings, actions, and decisions all make sense when viewed in the proper context, even if we don’t always like them. Her work centers on helping individuals understand themselves more fully, cultivate self-compassion, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

Brooks brings over 12 years of experience in higher education mental health, community-based counseling for co-occurring substance use and trauma, and private practice settings. Her therapeutic work draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), compassion-focused, and mindfulness-based practices. Her areas of clinical interest include trauma and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and personal development. She also finds joy in mentoring and supervising early-career clinicians.
