Landon Chang is an award-winning saxophonist and educator originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Now based in Rochester, NY, he serves as Adjunct Professor of Saxophone at Roberts Wesleyan University while pursuing his Master’s in Saxophone Performance and Literature with an Arts Leadership Certificate at the Eastman School of Music. He has performed with elite ensembles such as the Eastman Wind Ensemble and North Texas Wind Symphony, and is a featured member and arranger for the Eastman Saxophone Project.
A soloist since age 18, Chang has performed with the Spokane Symphony and the U.S. Army Band’s “Pershing’s Own.” He is a prizewinner in numerous national competitions and a TMEA Collegiate Music Educator Award recipient. He teaches at Eastman’s Community Music School and is a teaching assistant in the Music, Teaching, and Learning Department. His teaching and artistry are shaped by mentors including Chien-Kwan Lin, Eric Nestler, Vanessa Sielert, and Sam Schlaich.
