Katherine (Katie) Hagstrom is a macro social worker and ordained mission’s pastor with more than 15 years of experience in community-centered roles. Her professional journey has included working with families impacted by incarceration, supporting workforce development initiatives, and engaging faith-based congregations in holistic care and service. With a deep passion for diversity and multicultural understanding, Katie’s work explores the intersection of sociology, faith, and justice—both locally and globally.
Her areas of academic and professional interest include field education, community and congregational social work, international migration and displacement, and the lived realities of religious persecution. Whether leading in ministry or mentoring students in the field, Katie brings compassion, cultural humility, and a global perspective to every setting. When she’s not teaching or serving, you’ll likely find her hiking a trail, golfing, or enjoying a strong cup of coffee.
