Erika Marcucci is a flutist and music educator based in Rochester, NY. She holds two A.A.S. degrees in Music Performing Arts and Music Audio Technology from Schenectady County Community College, as well as a B.M. in Music Performance and Music Education and an M.M. in Music Performance and Pedagogy from Nazareth College. Her primary flute instructors include Rebecca Gilbert and Norman Thibodeau, and she has also studied bassoon with Dr. Keith Koster.
Driven by a passion for music and performance, Erika has played in numerous chamber groups, wind ensembles, orchestras, and solo recitals. In 2020, she was a featured soloist with the Nazareth College Symphony Orchestra after winning the Concerto/Aria Competition, and in 2022, she served as principal flutist for the Nazareth College Wind Symphony Ireland Tour. She has also participated in masterclasses with renowned flutists Marianne Gedigian and Brendan Ryan.
Currently, Erika teaches general music and band in the Rochester City School District. She also serves as Communications Director for the Rochester Flute Association and performs with both the Perinton Concert Band and the RFA Flute Choir. In addition, she teaches privately and offers instruction on a variety of woodwind instruments.
To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable.
