Dr. Denise M. Burgen, DNP, MBA, MS, FNP, RN, is the Chief Operating Officer at Mosaic Health and a part-time faculty member at the University of Rochester School of Nursing. With a distinguished career spanning clinical, operational, and academic leadership, she has held key roles including Chief Quality & Innovation Officer at UR Medicine Home Care and global head of Corporate Health and Wellness for Bausch + Lomb. She also served as Senior Director of Cardiovascular Services at Kaleida Health.
A Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in vascular surgery and wound management, Dr. Burgen has opened and operated a Diabetic Foot and Wound Care Center. She holds nursing and business degrees from the University of Rochester, a BSN from Keuka College, and a DNP from the University of Rochester. She also earned a healthcare leadership certificate from Harvard Business School. Dr. Burgen teaches healthcare finance, research, informatics, ethics, and leadership in graduate programs at both Roberts Wesleyan College and the University of Rochester.
