The Council on Social Work Education is the national accrediting organization for professional BSW and MSW Programs. Roberts Wesleyan University’s BSW was first accredited in 1980. Our MSW Program was first accredited in 1996.

Roberts Wesleyan University Undergraduate Social Work faculty participate each year with our national professional organization known as BPD. According to the current BPD website, “this organization is dedicated to the promotion of excellence in baccalaureate social work education”.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership association for professional social workers in the world, with 160,000 members in the United States and overseas. Roberts Wesleyan University Department of Social Work participates each year with the NASWNYS Genesee Valley Division to foster membership, facilitate leadership, and recognize outstanding students, educators and practitioners.

NACSW is an interdenominational and international organization of Christian social workers. Membership in NACSW is open to all persons or organizations that support the organization’s Mission Statement and Statement of Faith and Practice. Roberts Wesleyan University Department of Social Work participates each year with the NACSW national conference as presenters and volunteers.

The National Association of Deans and Directors of Schools of Social Work (NADD) is a volunteer membership organization working to promote excellence in social work education. NADD achieves this by enhancing the leadership of social work education programs. Our membership is comprised of deans and directors of graduate social work programs that are accredited or advanced to candidacy. NADD supports deans and directors in their professional development and effectiveness as academic administrators.

Assessments

The Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) require all accredited schools of social work to annually post their assessment data. These reports are updated each year and will provide benchmarks for the achievement of the core competencies and practice behaviors associated with our BSW and MSW programs.
