As an international student from the Czech Republic and growing up in Luxembourg, so much of my experience at Roberts has been new to me.

Every part of my college experience, from playing on the volleyball team to studying sports management, has been about immersing myself in the community and challenging myself with new experiences.

When I started working for the business department on campus, my supervisor told me about Roberts’ new programs powered by Rize and encouraged me to try Data Analytics I.

Even though it wasn’t part of my major, I said yes and I’m so glad I did.

The course was clearly valuable for my future and what I want to work in. The assignments weren’t just random, they were actually on topics I will use in my future, learning skills I can apply in my field later on.

This proved true during my summer internship at SK Slavia Praha, a professional soccer club in the Czech Republic. What I learned in Data Analytics really helped me understand what was going on when I was at my internship. I wasn’t just looking at the numbers but was able to find meaning and patterns like what we had learned.

Even the interview for that internship highlighted how practical these classes are. Because of this course, I had put data analytics skills on my resume. Not only did they ask me about that in my interview but I put it to use during the internship. It was really rewarding to be able to connect all these concepts and feel like what I’m doing in college is actually building things for my life.

I am now in my second course powered by Rize andI keep seeing how it will translate to the future. Whether that’s through internships, leadership roles, or career opportunities, I know these courses are helping me build something lasting.

What I learned in Data Analytics really helped me understand what was going on when I was at my internship.

I wasn’t just looking at the numbers but was able to find meaning and patterns like what we had learned.
